Chromis multilineata - Brown chromis

The brown chromis has a light-brownish oval body with a forked tail. It has a dark spot at the base of its pectoral fins and bright yellow trim on the edge of its dorsal and tip of its tail fins. Brown chromis usually grow to about 6 inches and feed on plankton that are well above coral reefs. They swim in loose groups at depths between 35 and 80 feet.

Distribution, Stock Structure and Migration
Western Atlantic: Florida and Texas (USA) and throughout the Caribbean Sea to Brazil. Eastern Atlantic: St. Helena and Ascension islands and from São Tomé.

Generally occurs in steep slopes and patch reefs.

Feed on plankton, mainly copepods.
