Holacanthus tricolor - Rock Beauty
| The rock beauty has a black body and a bright yellowish face with bluish lips and yellow fins. Adults are usually between 5 and 8 inches, but can grow to 12 inches. Juveniles are orangish with a blue-rimmed black spot. Rock beauty adults are territorial and will patrol their claimed area. They are found on coral reefs at depths between 10 and 80 feet.

| Western Atlantic: Georgia (USA), Bermuda, and northern Gulf of Mexico to Santa Catarina, Brazil.

| Habitat |
| Inhabits rock jetties, rocky reefs and rich coral areas. Juveniles often associated with fire corals. Depth range 3 - 92 m, usually 3 - 35 m.

| Diet |
| Feeds on tunicates, sponges, zoantharians and algae.

| As a juvenile rock beauty grows, the small black spot continuously grows until it covers the majority of its body.
