Mulloidichthys martinicus - Yellow Goatfish
| The yellow goatfish is white with a horizontal yellow body stripe, a yellow tail fin, and two barbels on its lower jaw. It is capable of growing to over 15 inches, but most are between 6 and 12 inches. Yellow goatfish are usually found feeding alone or in small groups in sandy or rocky areas near reef systems. They also are known to drift in groups above the reef when resting between 5 and 200 feet deep.

| Western Atlantic: Bermuda and Florida, USA to Brazil, including the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea. Eastern Atlantic: single record from Ile de Sào Tiago, Baie de Tarrafal, Cape Verde. Reported from São Tomé Island.

| Habitat |
| Found over sandy areas of lagoons and seaward reefs. Often in schools. Juveniles are common in seagrass beds.

| Feeds on benthic invertebrates.
